So let my begin, my most recent trip was to a Kmart store on April 29th I went there the day the Grand Theft Auto 4 came out walked into store and bought 2 copies with out reserving a copy. When people are looking for the hot item the rarely think of going to Kmart and Sears. i told my boss of my plan and he wished me luck after i found the game in the store i called my boss and he told me to pick up a copy for him too.

I found the best buy today at Sears.  A 4 piece queen sheet set that is 350 thread count(Egyptian cotton) for only$.27.97.  That is an excellent buy.

It sounds like people have had some good luck at the stores. Have there been any experiences where we could have done better?

I've always had a good time shopping in SEARS. I guess the prices there are just unbeatable compared to any other stores. My friends & family prefer the same too. V all love "SEARS"!! "IT'S SIMPLY THE BEST!!"

That is a great vote of confidence. Thanks!

Most recent trip to Kmart... was less than a joy. Associates ignored the evergrowing line at the single register station that was open. Even the Customer Service station located directly behind it was oblivious to the customers that grew to 5 customers.
I am a retail manager and I jump on a register if need be to kill a line.

Good point, and sorry to hear that you had that experience. I don't like to wait either. It sounds like an area we need to work on.

I shopped the store in Lewiston Idaho yesterday, before moving to the Pacific Northwest, I shopped K-Mart very regularly, no longer do so, although I have been in far worse places, the K-Mart in Lewiston could do with a face lift, I have already completed a survey regarding my experience.  I do not like to badmouth folks, any of us can have a less than stellar day, but the sales people I encountered didn't really seem to know much.

One of my pet peeves and this is not confined to K-Mart is that there is much too much outsourcing and products from overseas.  We have to spend much more for things today than before, if I have to pay more, I would far rather spend it on American made products than products manufactured in another country, our folks need the jobs and I believe can be encouraged to take pride in what they manufacture.  In addition clothing made in places like China and other countries are most of the time unrealistic size and fit wise.

Nationality-wise I am a nearly 60 year young mixed race woman, I am a Swiss, German, Black, Cherokee, Scotch, English American, (have fun with that!) I am also a large woman, like the country or cowgirl look and like to find clothes and shoes that hang right on me, will look nice and LAST without falling apart with the first washing.

Thank you for allowing me to voice my thoughts.

Unfortunately, my most recent experience could have been better. I have spent over $3000 in Sears in the last 3 months (and not to mention all the other trips to Sears throughout my life). I bought a washer (w/warranty), dishwasher, gps unit, 37" LCD tv, and digital slr camera. A lot of money if you ask me. So when I saw the same camera at Circuit City for $70 less than what I paid, I asked for a price-match. I was told that the policy was 30 days. My purchase was 42 days ago - which to me was within a reasonable time period to allow for an exception, especially considering how much I had recently spent. Unfortunately, the store manager cited policy and was not willing to help - even though I told her I would spend the price-match difference right then and there on another camera for my wife - they were going to get the money right back. So being disappointed, and refering to the back of the Sears receipt which asks to contact customer service if we are not satisfied with the policy time periods, I went home and called customer service. Again, I was told by the associate and her supervisor that Sears policy wouldn't allow for a price match. We're talking $70 versus the $3000+ I had recently spent, and I would have spent that $70 at Sears immediately on another camera. I was very disappointed - I am very disappointed. It didn't matter to the associate that I explained I have choices where I shop - she simply agreed, said sorry, then hung up. So yes, Sears could have done better. I could spend the rest of my life shopping at Sears (which would be a long time since I'm only in my 30's) or Sears associates can stick to a 12 day variance on a policy and lose a customer forever. I went to the store manager and sears.com -two opportunities for Sears to get it right - unfortunately it was two opportunities lost.

Murphy's Law was in full effect the month of May as I made 7 trips to various Sears stores and 6 phone calls...all in all, a most unnerving experience.  Today, 5/31 was my last trip in quest of an umbrella for my soon to be delivered patio dining set.

Having been in the work force 27 years, I cannot imagine keeping my job if I treated a customer the way I was treated.  In the absence of knowledge, people make up stuff or worse, don't know what options are available to them.  Sad how poorly trained todays workforce is......

Today I went into my local sears store to buy a DVD/VCR combo set and I had to figure out what brand I wanted ven though I had questions, which were not answerd at all.  Then when I chose a set to buy the cashier/salesperson was not at all friendly and did not offer an extended warrenty- which I wanted and when I asked him about this he was clueless on what an extended warrenty was and he did not know sears offered it on my product or on any electrontics at all.  If you buy a $3000 TV you probley would spend some money to protect it beyond the manfactuer's warrenty.  I finally called the toll free repair hotline and I was able to buy an extended warrenty that I can renew.  Its sad how porrly trained or motivated some employees can be.  I remember back even a few years ago the salespeople were more outgoing at my local store.

Hello!  I would like to see scooters available for disabled customers.  Sometimes there is a wheelchair available, but that isn't going to do me any good since I usually shop alone and don't have anyone to push me.  A motorized scooter would end all of my shopping at Sears/Kmart problems.  In my local Kmart there is one scooter that should have been put out of its misery many years ago.  If it works, which is about 1/8th of the time, you are lucky, but then you have to deal with the squeaking and no brakes problem it has.  It's dangerous.  It would be very cost effective for Sears/Kmart to have about 3 in each store that really work well all the time.

I do not really shop at Sears any more.  They closed the store in the mall that is closest to my home.  I now would have to drive an additional 15 miles to get to the next closest store.  I have found it easier to shop at Home Dept, Kohls, Target, Macys, JCPenney.  They are all closer.

Unfortunately people in today's world have misplaced their social graces and it shows with customer service and the customers in ALL stores, not just Sears and Kmart. I am please to say the last 2 times we went to Sears in Springfield Mo. was a very pleasant experience. The employee's were very friendly and helpful, especially the lady in shoes. It reminded me of years gone by when there was customer service, not just a forced smile or Hi.

Good Job

Yes i have one.  I recently wnet in reluctantly, actually, because i am a die hard walmart shopper.  My husband saw a circular and decided he wanted to check out some fishing things that were on sale, that were not at walmart.  so we go in.  as he is looking around i was looking at the rings.  i decided to purchase a new wedding band for my husband and it was 70 percent off, i was excited... to buy an almost 500 dollar ring for 104 with tax... no problem.  yet when it came to check out the disaster began.  I believe the company that Kmart pays to run checks is a complete fluke.  I have never had an issue with a check i have direct deposit and never bounced a check and never went below a 1000 balance.  so why on earth would i be denied a check writing priviledge at this facility... i called my bank first thinking oh no i know i have money what are you people doing... they verified my account on speaker so the cashier could hear... then i had to call the check processing compnay in turn they said we were not able to verify anything... why not... isn't that what you are paid to do, why could you not verify anything for me when my checks and drivers license match and i am giving you all the correct information to match with what they have.  i spent 45 minutes in that hot store just to be turned away.  never do i have to BEG walmart to take my checks or money.  i had to borrow the money from my own husband to get his ring and of course the surprise was blown.  never again will i shop at kmart even if given a gift card i will re gift it in a heart beat and stick with walmart.  i wouldn't care if i spent double i know and trust there will not be issues with my checks or cash anytime.  and i will not have to wait around 45 minutes to get even more frustrated.  that whole process needs to be re analyzed... with the economy the way it is shame on kmart for wasting money with this company that apparently can not do a darn thing right....

I grew up with Sears/kenmore appliances and items around me.  I personally had awful luck with them as an adult.

I recently went to Kmart and i was very pleased with the merchandise as well as the prices.  I am hoping that the combination of Sears and Kmart  will once again put Sears on my good side.   I do wish that bathrooms aren't always hidden in the back of the store though, I am handicapped and its a royal pain to have to walk through the whole store, just to use the bathroom, all that walking takes time and energy out of shopping.lol

I agree with most people not having social graces.  It is always refreshing when you run across anyone, especially a store employee, who is friendly and helpful .. and who actually is happy to have their job.
