Do you believe in making New Year's Resolutions? If so, tell what they are? You might inspire some of us!

I have believed in making New Year's Resolutions for as long as I can remember.  As a young child my father would discuss the importance of making them AND keeping them.  Usually it was resolutions to be a better person, improve upon some personality trait, school work, etc.  Every year during Thanksgiving he would have us write down at least one, preferably two.  He would then frame them and put them on our nightstands as a reminder of what we "wanted" to do.  As I got older I realized the importance of the resolutions if it would make me a better person and my world a better and more kinder place to live.

Every year I make one of the same resolutions: To be a better person and more loving to people that I don't think are loveable.  I take my resolutions to heart and pray that I will have a fervency about me to keep them.  I remind myself daily what it is that I want to do to be a better person or to make a difference in someone's life.  Can I send a card or note of encouragement?  Can I smile at the downtrodden?  Can I hug a client who is having a really bad day?  These are all things that I CAN do--I just must have a willing heart to do them.

A big resolution for me this year is to budget my money better.  I bought a new car in October so now I have a mortgage and a car payment and I have to be better at sticking to the budget that I make for myself.  I think I have already gotten a good start because since making my first car payment last month I haven't been shopping as much for myself.

Smaller resolutions that I normally break really quick: To quit biting my nails (I just keep getting them professionally done) and to not waste so much time sleeping.  I could sleep 24/7 if given permission to but I also realize that is not being a good steward of the time I have been given.

I've become so addicted to this website that next year I might be making a resolution not to spend so much time here but I'm still in the infant stage of my membership and some say the newness will wear off after a while.  We'll just have to see ;+)

My resolution for this year has been working great!

"Never, EVER go into the Trash Compactor room again!"

Management is 100 percent behind this resolution.

After I fell INTO the trash compactor, earlier this year.

A: The game tables are being made "slightly" lighter than last year's models.

Now, that's been the easiest New Year's Resolution I've ever made.
