About a month ago or so I purchased a Kenmore Sewing Machine. The Machine performed top notch until last night. The bobbin thread started tangling with every stitch it tried to sew. I troubleshooted it with the owners manual and nothing I tried worked. I was heartbroken and went to bed in a fit of tears. Well this morning first thing I packed the sewing machine back into it's box and went to the sears that I had bought it from. I've never had to return anything I've bought from sears before so I was a bit apprehensive about returning the machine. As soon as I walked in the store, I was greeted by the cashier who directed me to the Sewing/Vacuum department for my return. The salesman gave me a big smile and said everything would be taken care of. He asked me a few questions about the machine and gladly exchanged it for a new one. No hassle-No stress. Thank you Sears for standing behind your products. And thank you to the salesman that helped me today. You were Awesome!!!
I've lived in the same area all my life and have shopped at the same Sears store for over 30 years. And so have my parents. I have bought appliances, tools, baby items and the kid's school clothes and have never had to return any product until today. The experience of the return was hassle free, with no problems at all. I am a happy sears customer.
99% of transactions I'm sure go off without a hitch, but when you are as big as Sears 1% is still a lot and complainers are always louder than the satisfied ones.
Thanks Graphicgirl for sharing your experience. We do have a lot of great employees and stores out there who really care about the service they provide, it's nice that they get recognized! It means the most when it comes from the customer!
We'd love to hear about some of the new projects you'll be working on with that new sewing machine. You're inspiring me to pull out my sewing machine, which I also bought from Sears but a long time ago. I've made window treatments, kids' clothes and things for the home (holiday table runners, pillows).
