If there was one thing about Sears/Kmart that you would change and you think it would make a big impact on the companys what would it be? You can choose anything from Customer Service, store layout, products/brands (or lack of), prices, location or whatever else you can think of!! We would love to hear it!

I am not a huge fan of K-Mart, but I recently visited one in Augusta, GA. This was the messiest, most unorganized, store I ever been to. I loved the prices, but I do not have the patience to dig through that disaster.

When I'll have more time, I'll write about Sears. I got quite a bit to write about that one.

As a customer, I would like to see a bundled service agreement option where I could cover all of my Sears appliances for one price.

For example, I have a separate agreement for my Kenmore Washer/Dryer and my Dishwasher.

We recently purchased a Kenmore Elite refrigerator and I would have liked to receive a price advantage on the Protection Agreement due to the fact that I had other Protection Agreements.

This add on feature would also make me more likely to purchase additional appliances from Sears in the future.

I would become a huge store!  If I were a smaller mall store I would expand to take over space in the mall and have specialty shops.  If Sears is to compete it must become a huge store.  Take the cash you have and make huge stores that sell everything.  Think Lowes combined with Target.  Two very fine stores compared to Home Depot (think crappy customer service) and Walmart/KMart (run-down, dirty, disorganized).

I definately don't agree with DamonMel on this one.  The Sears around here are good size stores, and have a good selection.  Specialty stores aren't a bad idea.  But I disagree that Home Depot (I shop at way more than Lowes because of the better customer service) and Walmart are bad stores.

Back on topic though, I think the one of the first things corrected needs to be customer service.  As you may have read through these threads it appears the employees don't care about their jobs.  They are disinterested employees, who roll that onto their customers. If a customer does not feel appreciated they will stop coming.  This may be issues with pay, or schedules, or the employees don't feel important either.  I have done customer service and HR for years.  It doesn't take a lot to make employees feel valuable.  When they feel valuable and important they gvie much much better customer service.

Also, the store environment needs updating.  Clean them up, clean the floors and the shelves, and racks, etc.  More space needs to be given in the isles.  I realize this means less shelving units, but if only one shopper or only shoppers going one way are in there, you are losing potential sales.   Sears does not have these issues.  Actually I don't think I have any issues with Sears except there aren't very many of them and their prices are a little higher.

Just saw the redesigned stores on Kmart.com...Sears junior it seems like. Clean and good looking but sears junior.
Wanted to mention in the non apparel areas like grocery...Kmart needs to work with merchandisiers more and implement shelf talkers announcing products, prices, sales etc for the shelves....use the end and mid caps more effectively and group sale and non sale items on displays....review you plan o grams and again implement shelf talkers.

I would like to reach out to Kmart brass, I am here if you can use me in some capacity, please advise and thanks.

I agree with gigi7257, give coupons at the end of receipts or mail them out or email them, but please please please don't make us get one of those dumb cards to get the sale prices, I hate having to dig around in my purse or wallet for those stupid things.

I so enjoyed  my latest trip  to Kmart.  The only  thing  i would  like to see  changed would be  a bit  more room in the  isles, and larger sizes  in Mens'  clothes.

Because I get to travel around the state, I see lots of Kmart and Sears stores.  I find it all depends on the manager.  The quality of the merchandise is the same but the condition of the store and the way I am treated at each store varies.

Being one with a hobby that requires yarn, my humble suggestion is that Kmart add yarn to its crafts department.  I do not remember if it even has one.  Most of my trips are to small towns.  I wind up going a town or two a way to a Wallmart.  I hate to say this, but it is a difference that can be easily fixed.

My suggestion? Demolish the stores, sell off the brands, and reduce SHC to penny stock.

I LIVE IN EAST NORTHPORT, N.Y. THE SEARS ON LARKFIELD RD. AND JERICHO TPKE.  IS SO WARM INSIDE I WON'T EVEN GO TO SHOP THERE UNLESS IT IS QUICK. I TAKE MY SHOPPING TO TARGET JUST DOWN THE ROAD.

EVEN THE EMPLOYEES ARE WARM. THAT MAKES WANTING TO GO TO WORK A REAL THRILL.

My last trip to Kmart was miserable. The outside temperature was 90+ degrees, and the store temperature must have been close to that. The store was very disorganized, there was only one cashier working on a Sunday afternoon, and the service was terrible!

At my latest visit to Sears in Barboursville, WV, I was disappointed in the number of check-outs that were open.  I had to wait several minutes to pay for my goods.
