Does someone from kmart read this discussion board in order to fix the problems, or are we just venting???? If kmart owners do read it give US feedback.

I hope it's not just a place to vent or a PR ploy. I can vent elsewhere. I agree that feedback on the comments is necessary. Otherwise this site won't be taken seriously.

Fair comment. I hope people do not just see this as just a place to vent, I think it will be most beneficial if people really use it to suggest ideas. I think we need to probably reinforce that message and demonstrate how we are using this feedback.

We are planning to showcase those ideas that do get implemented, but this is a learning process and the benefits aren't always obvious at first. The real measure of this community's usefulness will be in what improvements can be identified and implemented that ultimately translate into real (and meaningful) change.

I care a lot about the suggestions/complaints/applause from customers (and employees!) and forward them to the people who can make things better. Though it might not be apparent each time I do this in these forums, please know that I do copy the posts and take the time to find the right person(s) to forward them to, ask them to look into the issue and follow up.

Sometimes, these are relatively easy fixes like ordering more shopping carts or wheelchairs. Yet, other times these changes can't happen as quickly. Please know that we believe strongly in this site and take very seriously the wonderful (even if negative) feedback from YOU. Hopefully very soon, you'll see the changes we're making and will write about them here.   :)

Well, I hate to say this, but SHC has really burnt the bridge to my trust. I will remain skeptical of this website until I start seeing direct results from it. Once I start seeing employees being paid fairly and common sense amongst store-level management is when I will have trust again.

I can't really speak to the trust that has been gained or lost at a personal level. I do think it is earned on an individual basis, and it is not gained over night (even if it can be lost in that time-frame). I hope that the community helps build some of that trust. But I know that it will take time. I think the idea of showcasing change makes a ton of sense, and we will work to make that happen.

I think we read each others comments and are finding that Sears and KMart and such are different across the country.

I am glad to hear that someone representing them is reading and sorting through our comments and trying to do something useful with them.  Both are good in their own right but can be better.

I would not want to have them become a thing of the past.  They have value to add to the market place and to society.  That would be a terribly large number of jobs lost.  Traveling around, I see it as the only place to shop in many small rural communities.  It would be disastrous to them.  They would be traveling extremely long distances for small items.  Life would be made very difficult for them.  It would be adding to the disappearance of a lifestyle.

Never fear Mary, Wal-Mart won't let that happen!

Well, I'm a Sears customer, and I've seen both good and bad things on the boards, looking as far back as I can.  It seems Sears needs some work, but what retailer doesn't?  Also, I think some of the venting is by people who just want to start trouble on the board, which is a shame.  I think this is a great resource and am glad I found it.

I hate it when people go on to message boards or discussion forums and make fun of other people.  Do they have nothing better to do?  It makes them look like losers when they do that.  Sears has its problems, but so does everyone else.  I'd like to see a lot of people do better with the company.

At least Sears is trying to reach out to the consumers and take on what they are doing wrong.  They have been very proactive in trying to right the wrongs.

Common sense?

You're joking, right?

There ain't a whole lot a that, all around, now-a-days.
