I want to thank Sears and Kmart for keeping layaway!  Times are tough here and I want to start X-mas shopping now.  I did go to Walmart to put I-pods on layaway and they don't do it anymore.  I saw MP3 players on sale in my K-mart ad, bought 4 because I was able to put them away.  Keep it up SK!

I don't have a Kmart in my area. Walmart used to lay-a-way, but quit doing it, which i thought would hurt a lot of people who depend on  lay-a-way for Christmas, or getting things they can't afford to buy right out.

Layaway is great. I hope they never get rid of it.

I  agree,, Layaway is a great way for people who don't have the money on hand when they see a sale.  Not many stores have them, but I am happy that Kmart does.

I am so glad that Kmart had decided not to do away with their layaway.  I use it all the time.  It is a very good thing to have when you are limited with the amout of money you can spend at one time.  I keep something in the layaway all the time for my many children and grandchildren's birthdays.  Thank you Kmart.

Our K-mart just announced they were bringing back their layway Yippee! I shop better with it ! It is so much easier when there is a layaway dept. As I have 5 kids and a new granddaughter, so layaway makes life alot easier God Bless You Kmart for giving us shoppers back layaway!

Layaway is good news to a lot of folks this year. Did you know that Sears also has layaway? You can find more information about which items you can hold, etc. by visiting sears.com and kmart.com.

Kmart pick-up is the 5th (today) only if it contains seasonal merchandise (ornaments, trees, etc.) otherwise its the standard 8-weeks.  kmart.com has a PDF of the official policy.

I had that same problem I would have to travel over an hour to do a layaway. Thanks to Sears I was actually able to do Christmas for my 4 children this year an afford it. I hope that this becomes a constant because I will need it again during the summer for School supplys. I do not mind paying a few cents more if I can make sure my children have uniforms for the next year. :-)
