the book is out...now, do you think it would be a good idea for her to run again for candidacy  in 2012 ?

Nope. :)

She's as prepared for the presidency as I am to perform brain surgery. I've seen it on tv, I've read a few articles about it...I'm aware of what it is and the basics involved. But would you trust me to cut your head open and poke around in there?

Be careful she doesn't mistake you for a WOLF while you're up there in Canada.

Is that a helicopter I hear?

Duck and Cover!

Would you look at that...

She's hanging upside down from the "skid", a shoot'n at anything that moves.

Nope, I don't think it's a good idea to write a book airing all her dirty laundry and then think she's going to run for president.  That's just crazy.  And I don't think she's qualified anyway.

And you know what really bugs me?  She claims all the stuff in the book is true, McCain claims it's not.  So basically one of the people who could have been president is a major liar, just not sure which one.  Scary.

Not really thinking about it just yet.  I think the media totally over did it by starting to talk about the 2009 elections in 2006 so I'm still sick to death of hearing about that election.  I doubt I'll become interested in 2012 until early 2012.

No matter who gets in there, this country is a mess.

There's a reason why our Constitution says "We, the people".

It doesn't say "We, the few wealthy and priveleged".

It doesn't say "We, the hungry for power".

It doesn't say "We, who are here to serve our own special interests".

I think our government, and our society have lost sight of why our forefathers came to these shores.

They wanted to get away from something similar in principal to what this country has become, and we've become the something like type of ill they rebelled against.

The few, and the petty have really screwed things up for ALL of us.

If we don't straighten up as a nation, and build a sustainable, equtiable society, it won't matter who gets to be in the Oval Office.

If you're asking for Republican nominee alternatives, the list isn't super long, but it's not super mysterious, either.

Mitt Romney is a shrewd businessman who could certainly do good things in office. Of course, he spent a year running down Massachusetts, and he'd never win MA's vote, but MA is essentially insignificant in the long run during presidential elections.

I think Newt will pull a Fred Thompson in 2012.

Mike Huckabee may try again. And fail again. He'll be the Republican version of John Edwards. Always going to the big dance, hoping for someone to pick him, but getting ignored by everyone there.

There are rumblings for Tim Pawlenty. He's a relatively obscure governor from Minnesota, but he provides a counterpoint to the people who oppose Al Franken.

I'd be most concerned if Bobby Jindal were nominated, though he's pushing rather hard into the Christian fundamentalist wing of the Republican party, and the backlash among moderate religious people and unreligious people will ultimately lead to his undoing on the national stage. Mainly, I'd be concerned if he were to win office, as I think things like science should be left to scientists and not to public opinion polls.

Now, let the games begin.

No arguement over here.

Ask the English how they feel about politics, and science mixing it up these days...

what do you think of gov. perry of texas ?...i heard he's got a good track record...and i think we certainly need a strong, decisive and brave leader like him instead of a very apologetic, over-diplomatic, naive, " ain't no mountain high enough "  dreamer like you know who....

Which means you could do a decent job at it? I don't think she's ready either, but I don't think she is that bad. I'd rather have her then Bush or Obama.

Do you think that I could do a decent job at brain surgery? I don't think I could. I realize I'm woefully underprepared for such a profound task. It's that kind of insight that is either missing or repressed in Sarah Palin. I think she's a lovely lady, did a mediocre job running Alaska, but I do have some basic standards:

Ability to complete a coherent sentence.

Ability to respond intelligently, if not honestly, to questions.

Ability to leave science to scientists.

Those are but three, but they're crucial for a president when it comes to advancing America's standing in the world economy.

If I came to your neighborhood and kicked your dog, and did so every day for a month, and then asked you for your help, would you offer it? Why should I apologize? The past is the past. Let's forget what happened back then and move on, right?

Arrogance on the world stage is what lost us the good will of the entire world in the course of 24 months.

i don't know if you can call protecting your country and its citizens from further attacks, arrogance...neither protecting your allies in the mideast and in europe...i think we have all been spoiled and pampered with all the luxury and comforts in life that we have been unaware of how much these other countries have been jealous and hated us..too much that they wanted to destroy us..now, why would i apologize to these countries whose only intent is to annihilate us, because they regard us as infidels, non-believers..24 hrs a day all they are thinking about is how to ruin us economically, militarily and spiritually....gotta be tough..not over-diplomatic or they will trample all over you..do you honestly think if you are nice to them they won't attack you..now, how do you prefer them to call you ?...arrogant or sissypants ??
