You can use the temp card all the cashier does is look you up in the system and you are good to go

All you need to do is tell the cashier you opened a credit card and you want ot put your purchase on it and she will ask for your drivers licence and ask you to type in you social security number ( the cashier doesn't see it ) then they do there part and you sign and you are off on your merry way.

I went to buy a Sears Kenmore grill and tried to open a Sears Card and was refused for some kind of credit check...Left the store and went to Lowes saw a grill opened a credit card on the spot $1100 line and 0% for one year. thanks Sears a no brainer but I did try you first. Oh the grill was $500

Sears actually has two banks for credit cards: Citi (primary bank) and HSBC (second chance). Lowe's runs through GE, which isn't as concerned about credit scores as Citi or HSBC but, consequently, is much more strict about things like fees when/if someone pays late. Keep working on improving your credit score (you should check your credit reports at least once a year) and you'll eventually be approved. Every 30 days you are eligible to apply.
