wow what a crock of bs this site is.  I posted a concern for an issue that has hurt my family, and the moderator didn't like it and deleted it.  I can't wait till the day I see Sears boarded up.  It shouldn't be long....

Generally, posts are only deleted if they contain profanities, are defamatory, intend to harass, or are advertising other websites. I believe you had the post about an alleged manager who allegedly made inappropriate comments and actions toward your daughter. Without an investigation, you are using hearsay to defame the character of an employee of Sears, and possibly incite harmful repercussions against that employee. If this was such a big problem, you wouldn't bring it up here; you'd be in court. My guess is that is why it was deleted.

maybe the mods should edit the posts to reflect why they are inappropriate instead of deleting them outright to prevent things like this

Truly Erin, shame on you! I hear in Iran the leaders are looking to hire people that reflect a similar caliber. Happy 4th of July!,

I believe Erin explained why the the post was legitimately removed. In the best interest of all parties involved, there are more appropriate avenues to pursue this type of issue than this or any other internet board.

And now an incident at another store.... wow, you certainly have the worst experiences with Sears!

Hey Goodole,

Thanks a good idea... what exactly do you mean by "edit?" We never  want to go in and modify someone else's content since technically it's their "property." What would you suggest?

Most forums let moderators edit anyone's post, but when it happens the post has a message at the bottom saying, "edited by: (moderator's name)". They edit posts that way so the topic can still be discussed but without divulging too much sensitive information. (If it was just a hatefilled rant with no constructive criticism at all, then it would usually be deleted.) but, say someone posted about a serious problem, which you would have to take their word for fully, and specifically mentioned names - since that could be slanderous, and possibly leak out to other places and cause damage to a persons reputation, they would just edit out the name, usually just replacing "Bob Dole" with "*** ****".

Of course, people will still be upset about that, but at least it allows you to continue to discuss the matter with others who are hopefully civil about it.

^^^^ what he said, since it is only a matter of semantics in the difference editing and removing a post it would probably cause less dissent to edit them

Two possible incidents, in over 800 stores, not including Kmarts...

That's right.

Run away!

Some of these posts seem "bogus".

The edits could be put in using a different colored font or in italics...

Boarded up?

That's SIMPLE!

Come to the store I work in.

We've had that door, where the car done hit it, boarded up for nearly a month now.

You can see light coming through from the outside, where the six inch thick masonry wall, next to the door frame, was smashed.

There's even rebar exposed - compound masonry fracture.

They (contractor) "just" started working on it.

I'll see if I can snap a picture of it and post it.

Happy?

The best way to get even with these morons is to not buy.  You are right, it should not be long before Sears is boarded up. You would not believe how many complaints I hear about them.  SO far, I have gotten over 10 people to stop shopping there.

Some folks just lack that nice word "tact" jeeperpilot.  Guess I will have to go out and get ten people to shop our Sears to replace those above:)

Yeah, maybe she "should have recalibrated" those words...like a certain President recently stated regarding the Cambridge PD.

This site allows you to bring to the attention problems with Sears, and that's good...only if Sears tries to fix the "root problem"...Not sure if that will happen..I was offered a gift card (that's good), but no questions asked about the store or the person or the process......have to do more than apply band-aids, they tend to fall off!......so it NEVER really heals!

What do you think will "fix" these problems?

posted on August 03, 2009 at 10:56AM

I suggest that periodically you select one of these customer problems and have someone go back and "investigate" the problem.....talkto the people involved in the process and determine what could have been done to prevent or correct the issue...I have an IT background and we did this on many "open problem tickets" ..we found our Help Desk needed additional training..and an escalation process for items that they could NOT handle...we then assigned a a team or owner that was responsible for ensuring customer satisfaction...you will typically find a trend with customer complaints that is typically a training or processs problem that can be FIXED..unfortunately, it is difficult to convince management to spend resources to do this......issue enough gift credit cards and that will get their $$$ attention...by the way this is called a QA process..
